Accord 97 EX Need Akebono caliper mount (rear right)
I appreciate any help in advance.
I am looking for a replacement caliper bracket for the rear right on my 1997 Honda Accord EX-L with the V6 engine. I need a bracket as one of the floating pins lost its boot over the winter and is now completely rusted over beyond repair.
I know I have the Akebono on the rears of this car as I purchased a full caliper off eBay including the bracket (was just going to use the bracket) and the screw alignment does not match for where the caliper attaches to the bracket (on the floating pins). The eBay caliper clearly said Nissin on the caliper.
Anyone know where or under what part I can order this caliper bracket? I tried a Dorman bracket from a local auto store and it was designed for the Nissin.
Yes, I know I could probably replace the entire caliper, but the attaching parts are rusted tight and finding the new bracket would be by far the easiest way to go.
Anyone else run into this problem?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Honda does not sell the brackets separate from the caliper. your best bets are either your local pick and pull, or a new caliper and bracket from Honda.
reman calipers are fine. Go to your local auto parts and ask for a "semi- loaded" caliper. This means the brackets are included.
In case anyone else is in the same situation, I wanted to report what I've found.
It seems that only the EX and possibly only the EX with V6 versions of the 1997 Accord used the Akebono brakes as opposed to the Nissin which came on the majority of the models. No matter where you look this up (I tried every auto parts store), they will recommend the wrong caliper/bracket.
I was able to do a look-up on the Akebono web site and found that the rear caliper for the Acura CL was the same as mine. They referenced both the EX V6 and the CL as using the same exact part number for the rear caliper. I've ordered a caliper off eBay for a Acura CL (picture looks the same) and I'm crossing my fingers.
I hope that some day this helps someone else who is in the same position.
