Painting on metal surface
Sup guys. I'm getting my eBay strut bar and I bought a used AEM SR intake for my 96 Accord. They're are polished, but I had a polish intake before on my other car, and it was just bad. The intake was warm and I sprayed some cold water on it and it just water spots everywhere. So Now I'm thinking of painting it red. Make it looks like new.
So what is the proper way to paint on metal surfaced? Do i need to same it off, make it semi-rough? Tell me the detailed steps. I'm currently finding how to do that on Google, but no luck yet. And don't say anything about "Why do you want to do that? or Why did you buy an eBay strut bar or any other pointless questions" Thank-You!
Also what paint do you suggest. It's going be inside the engine, so it needs semi heat application.

Get one of those spray cans from auto stores (rated for 300 degrees or something) and paint with it. See if you could find a can of epoxy primer (the best stuff on bare metal).
Start the sanding with 320 grit paper, spray primer on it, let it dry, sand with 600 paper and apply 2 or 3 coats of paint. Allow coats to dry about 5 minutes or so before applying a new one.
