Default Good all around boots: Sidi B-2 vs. Vertigo

I need new boots. I don't want all out race boots but I want ankle protection. I also want something that wont kill my feet if i walk around for a couple of hours. No squeaking is a plus too. Who here has these boots? Comments?

B-2's

Vertigo [Te-Por]

The B-2s will squeak. Mine do. But i just spray a little honda polish up the cracks in the back and the squeaking goes away for a few weeks. I once spent and entire day in the B-2s with no ill side effects other than smelly feet.

Spending an entire day in race boots is completely different than actually walking around in them for hours straight (if that's what JDubya means). With that said I would probably go with a purpose built riding shoe, alpinestars one o one comes to mind.

I have the B-2. Personally I feel that it is an amazing shoe

ok, so now i'm even considering the Vertigos. The Strada's are out - not enough ankle support.

Anyone have vertigos?

You can actually use the Vertigo's armor as replacements on the B2's, and B2's are very comfortable

Realize you said the Strada Evo's are out but I still think they are good boots. I've had mine for a bit over six months, I can (and do sometimes) wear them all day without complaint. True they don't have as much ankle support as a race boot, but then again they're not race boots. They get the job done for street riding.

I have the B2s and they are great boots - really comfy. I can walk around in them all day and they dont hurt my feet what-so-ever.

That's the thing, generally wrecks on the street turn out worse than wrecks on the track. Tracks are designed so that going down isn't that big of a deal. The streets are a whole different ballgame. I'm just trying to get an edge on safety.

i have the AStars supertech and i find them wicked comfortable. But they are difficult to walk in but are perfectly fine to wear for hours if thats what your worried about!

My vote for you would be the b2's tho.

Well I'm stumped between the two. I guess what it comes down to is ankle support/protection. Does the vertigo offer more ankle support than the B-2's?
