Default Suspension Upgrades: Requesting Advice

First off I'm driving a 95 VTEC. It has been lowered with some type of red springs (thats the best I can tell you) on the stock struts which must be totally shot. That or I have bigger problems. I'm assuming when it feels like you are being dragged behind a car in a sheet while driving (what?) that you need new struts. There is a ton of skipping over the tiny bumps as well. The car bottoms out all of the time. I feel I have made the proper diagnosis, please correct me if I am overlooking anything.

So on to it... Seems everyone loves their tokico illuminas, and while they probably are a tad overkill for my needs its still the set I'm leaning towards most. As for springs, I'm leaning towards the RS-R as they offer performance without lowering the car quite as much as the competitors. This appeals to me, but I was unable to find a review in my searching, and the RS-R springs are the most expensive. The only thing I have to go on is that I'm thrilled with my RS-R exhaust, and am counting on the same quality.

In a nutshell I'm definitely going to go with the illuminas unless someone talks me out of it and I'm stumped on springs.

Please help me H-T.

If you want height adjustability, get Ground Control coilovers. If that isn't so important, get Eibach Pro-kit or Sportline springs depending on how much you want to lower the car.

I do not require height adjustability... I'm thinking now perhaps I am not in need of the adjustable struts.

It looks as though I was mistaken: the RS-R set is not the most expensive. Eibach Pro-kit looks very nice, but the Sportline is out as I am not looking for that extreme of a drop.

Thanks for the input.

EDIT: Any other opinions on setup?

You may want to check into some KYB or Tokico struts, adjustable or not. Also, look at the Tein S tech springs. They will lower you a little bit, and give you a nice ride since they are progressive rate. You might also want to check your ball joints and strut mounts and what not while you're in there.
