rpm bounces?
More likely it's one of the usually erratic idle problems.
Fitv, IACV, and throttle body. Check those out and make sure they're clean. Then get back to us.

He said it bounces after 3k, thats not idle

Limp mode stops you like a rev limit, not a bounce

Best advice so far but i still think its wrong.
RPM gets it signal straight from the ignitor inside the distributor. When you start to see bouncing, that means that your usually misfiring. If thats the car change the ignitor or the coil. There are times where a spark plug is so bad that it could do that, so might as well check that as well.

eh all i know is i payed 700 bucks to have misc. electrical stuff replaced because my car was doing the same thing and my clutch was slipping and stuff. Turned out to be a little cheap grounding wire.
