I just noticed that on my '03 7th gen Accord coupe EX V6, the traction control button (when pressed) does nothing at all, and when i turn the ignition on the TCS light does not show up, i don't even think that there IS a light on the dash at ALL. Was it removed? Because in the manual it says that tcs is on ALL v6 models. WTF??? Help!

 

The TCS lights are above the fuel guage (a triangle with an exclamation mark inside, and a TCS light). Your car should have them, if it's an 03 EX V6. It should be pretty easy to find out if it's working or not. Pour some water on the road and take off fast enough to make the wheels spin, if they stop spinning, it's working. They should both come on (for a few seconds), when you turn the key to on position II.

 

Actually TCS will only work when you are going 20MPH or less, mostly when driving in snowy ice roads.

 

Swear to GOD I did that 20 times, there is NO SUCH SYMBLO like that on my dash. The ONLY ones above the gas gauge are the right turn signal, cruise reset, high beam icon, cruise control. That is it. What the hell?!?!? I'm so pissed, because if I don't solve this mystery, then that means i have a TCS buton that has no damn use. W..T....F...!

actually, i think its 8 mph or under. i remember reading it in my friends manual and it gave me a odd number that was really low, im prety sure it said 8 mph.

 

I have a CL type S and traction control works at any speed... when 1 wheel slips it cust in and takes care if it.

 

wow this whole forum just digressed, what the hell? I still hae no idea why my honda's dash does not have that symbol. That means no little molded plastic with LED that has even a chance to light up. Not ONE YMBOL.

 

Does your abs light light when you turn the key on? The Traction Control lights are directly to the right of that one. I find it hard to believe the lights aren't there, that is if your car is an 03 EX V6, like mine is. If I push the gas pedal down a little too hard when taking off from a stop sign, the TCS will stop the wheel from spinning and the exclamation point light will flash. Did you try to spin the wheels from a stop?

 

i car shows it is an orange triangle with a ! in the middle. TCS is part of abs system and it should be a light that says "TCS"

 

most likely the light is burned out, if car is under warranty, take it back to dealer for repair. if out of warranty, see if they will good will it.

 

Yea, thank you guys, you were right. It was to the imediate right of ABS, but they don't turn on when i start the ignition or move it to (II). I will take it to the dealer and see if I can fix it. Yet would there be any way to know if the TSC is disengaged when I press the button? Is there any feedback at all when the button is pressed, cuz mine just feels like an empty button with a spring when i press it.

 

on a gravel surface, step on the gas and if the tires spin without the brakes being applied then it is off.

if the button is pressen in like this __ then it is on. If it is --- (raised position), then it is off

 

It never presses in WTF is THIS?!?! It just bounces back up every time. Does that mean my TCS does not work????? Really Freaking out right now. I seriously want to be able to turn off my TCS.

 

on my friend's 6th gen V6 the button doesnt push down, you push it and it comes back up but a light on the button will turn on. according to his manual, whent he light on the button is on, the TCS is turned off.

its probably those double clutching on a stock clutched accord that's giving you that problem....
