Default new to accords, what model is this?

Just aquired my accord, not sure what model it is which is making it difficult to order parts and stuff. Wondering if anyone can help me out..

It's a 96, 4 door, has power windows, locks, mirrors. Also has AC and cruise. Doesn't have a sun roof, leather, ABS, it also has drum brakes in the rear

Here is a pic if it helps. On the registeration for the car under "model" all it says is "ULE" if that helps. Also, could someone please tell me what the differences between the models are, such as DX, EX, EXR and LX?

It must be an LX type. It has AC and cruise, but has rear drums. Most drum on Accords do not have ABS. Especially older models of Accords.
*All in 5th gen
DX-The lowest of the low. NO VTEC engine, the basics. No power door locks, windows, or cruise control and other amenities. plastic door handles, mirrors, side guards front disc, rear drum
LX-Lower than the EX. Beggining of the beginners amenities. Power everything, cruise, AC. Cheapest and best value. Most people have LX. No VTEC front disc, rear drum
EX-the top. highest you can go. Everything is included. Power seats, windows, etc.... Also sunroof, and other few that I forgot. The cloth type design might also be a little different. ABS, 4 wheel disc. comes with front mud guards? VTEC
EX-R is only in Canada. I don't know much about that.
LX and EX comes in V6 models.

it was an option...I think if you got the leather seats, it came with it.

Chadnixon, you should tell us where you are. Those designations LX, EX, EXR mean different things in Canada. I mention this because you included EXR...

I think the Canada EX-R is the same as the USA EX. That means the Canada EX may be missing some of the USA EX stuff. Or something like that...

The LX drum brakes can be interchanged with the EX disks. Maybe some previous owner did that?

I believe that the LX models has an option for a ABS. I know the 6th gen LX do. I read somewhere so does the 5th gen. or the previous owner changed it out.

What engine does it have in it?

I'm not sure where the "ULE" on you reg fits. Is it a F23A1 ULEV engine, easy way to tell, it has ULEV VTECH on the valve cover. I thought that they only came in the 98+ Accords and this is clearly a 5th Gen.

I'm going to say it's a Canadian EX=US LX, Only because I have one and it looks like your license plates are from Nova Scocia????

As for buying parts that's easy....For engine, drivetrain and exhaust parts go buy year, Sedan (4door) and engine code (F22A*, F22B2, F23A1). Then for body parts and interior parts buy whatever you think you want. They're all interchangeable for the 5th Gens. If you don't have power seats in it now buy seats for an EX-R and run a 12v power wire to them.....2easy!

Cheers

See, i thought about that too. My brother was the 2nd owner. The previous owner only had it about a year, and i seriously doubt she was concerned with the vehicle to that extent. And god knows my brother is hardly smart enough to **********, much less do anything productive.

Last resort if you really want to know your car is the VIN. Go to carfax or Honda Owners site. And type it in and it should give you everything. EX, LX, DX. So and so.

Yea im in Canada, Nova Scotia to be exact. I talked to the dealer the other day and he said that only the EX-R's had sun roofs, but didn't give me any other information then that. I can't tell from the engine, because it's got a JDM h22 in it, which is obvousily not factory.

I never knew that... I'm gonna look into that, I always thought you had to change the entire trailing arm system to change over to disc brakes.

it is not a DX since DX does not have anything

it is not an EX since it does not disks in the back

it should be an LX checking the VIN will tell you for sure
