It's your MAIN RELAY...I had the same exact problem with my 89 Civic hb and a mechanic friend of mine told me that a lot of Hondas have problems with their main relays when it gets hot.

Hope this helps.

there is two main problems i had when dealing with the obd0 is the distributor and the relays to check the distributor have someone spin over the motor and you manually check spark from the plug wires to the cap if no spark then check your computer or your main relay to check the main relay simply turn on key and watch the check engine light if it does not go off nor hear your fuel pump cycle
then simply tap on the relay (somtimes works) if your cel goes off then thats mostlikly is the problem. also check the computer for power up by peeling back your passenger carpet and see if your ecu pulses when you turn on the key one time only one time if it pulses more than that then its giving out a code
good luck

main fuel relay .....gas gets suck up back into gas tank when you shut off the engine. so when you start it up its not priming gas into injectors. i had the same problem. turn ignition to on position. listen for a relay to click on then click off after 2-3 seconds. if you dont hear nothin underneath near the fuse box. then the relay needs to be change
