jdm type r what oil is recomended synthec or reg or 5-30w or 10-30w.

5W 30 is recommended but u can still use 10 W 30 if you live in warm place

if the motor has never seen synthetic oil. then just stick with regular

thats what i dont know if previous owner use synthec. i just put moble1 10w-30 full synthec today..

i tried other oils....but the one that works the best for me ( and i know other people who say they feel the difference ) is Mobil 1

I heard that Mobil1 burns REALLY quick.
Whereas other stuff aka, Lucas/Royal Purple. Burns a whole lot less ?

mobile one burns up fast ! if ur motor is jdm it prolly has alot of miles on it use a thicker oil 10-40 if ur in warm area or hot area ! castrol full syn is that i use ! stays yellow longer then mobil and doesnt burn as much... try aa couple different oils and c what ur car likes. good luck !

i use mobil1 extended performance 6.50 a quart! ***** killin me, is there any difference betweek just regular synt mobil1 and extended performance if i just go with reg one?&gt;

Burns a whole lot less ?</TD></TR></TABLE> I switched from Mobil 1 5w-30 fully syn to Royal Purple 10w-30 about 2 months ago.I check my oil regularly and within 1100 miles after the change, my oil was down to the bottom dot of the dipstick.Maybe the car was boosting,but shouldnt be like that.The oil filter was full of oil.This the first time it happened.(Oil filter was also Mobil-1)...I change it back to mobil1 and runs smoother imo..

i would say san diego use 10w30 thats what i been using but i live in both so cal and nor cal so cal humid hot and nor cal is a dry hot(valley) so its pretty damn hot both places

i remember there being a long *** thread about this (over 30+ pages), but in the end most people agreed that mobil1 synthetic was the best all around. like others have said, it depends on your location/environment. i have lived all over CA (south, central, and north) and have used 5w-30. 175k miles later...no issues
