Default An Honest Question for the Members of Appearance & Cosmetic

Keep in mind this really isn't geared to all.

There is a select few..
I see constant bashing here everyday.. now I'm all for a good joke here and there but there have been some instances as of late that have been pretty over the top.

From personal attacks about peoples personal appearance... to downright cursing another member out due to "his vehicle" not being the "correct way"

Has it come to the point in the Import Scene that members should be scared to post up their cars due to harrassing members?
....or have to request to have their pix and posts removed?..Not really cool IMO

I am not trying to be a killjoy here but I think its just been taken to far....

Not everyone has the financial means to buy 3000 dollar wheels or swaps, or 400 dollar jdm headlights... albeit because of their age or other things going on in their lives...

Anyone else agree? Disagree? thoughts?

It would be greatly appreciated.

- mike

i agree...

a lot of people on here do not take in consideration the financial aspect. reply to an OP's thread with "looks like ***" shows no class or sense of self respect... and shows no respect for this forum.

if people ask for criticism apply yourself and your knowledge in a classy manner

Thats the beauty of a internet forum my friend.. The difference of opinion sparks controversy.. and drama, is what keeps people coming back for more.

what I find pathetic though is the people who come into A/C and ask everyone for thier opinion on what to do to THIER own car... It raises the question.. "Well.. what do you want us to tell you that you cant deduct from a magazine?"

Also, the current trend of " X Squad post pics" or "HT's Nicest X" its getting REALLY old REALLY fast. Id rather see pics of people building thier cars up from the ground up and fully documenting them. THOSE are the threads that belong in A/C.. In my honest opinion.

....and how is this Appearance / Cosmetic related?

(just kidding Mike.....just kidding)

I agree with you, though. There seems to be an elevated amount of arrogance from quite a few people these days. Rota bashing has gotten old, I'm sure we can all agree on that.

Many of the folks, especially the younger student types, simply can't afford the really exclusive parts. Quite a few others can't and wont justify the expense of exclusivity for their daily drivers.

We have to keep in mind that this forum is not intended for competition. There will be no trophies handed out at the end of the day.

if you post up a picture of you're car expect to get comments, both positive and negative. if you cant take the bad, don't post. simple as that. This is the internet. if someone gets butt hurt because a complete stranger called them a ricer, then that's their problem. expect criticism. if you can't take it, don't post.

EXACTLY!

the problem is that, there are too many people here expecting what their car should be. Then you have kids, trying to get "ideas" of what their car should be. then you have the rest just "STRAIGHT' out copying one of another.

It's the followers, following the posers. it's a huge circle. The people that think they know it all; are the one that are bashing.

there are cretin types of car owners.
The one that knows what they're doing.
The ones that are trying
and the posers.

have you ever notice that the one that knows what they're doing; hardly post pics of their cars? But when they do, they get like 20 pages of positive feedbacks.

the problem isn't this forum. the problem is the people in this world.
LIVE ABOVE THE INFLUENCES.

there it is, don't post pics of your car and you won't cry.
I sure as hell don't post pics of my car, it's riced out and ugly.

DxBurnoutKing, the A/C forum was great back in the early pre 2002 days. people had quality threads of BUILDS. Now everyone is trying to win; looking their best on this runway beauty contest

I agree with everything listed above

however there is definitely a difference between
Saying your not crazy about a car , posting a thumbdown or a funny picture

vs

Telling the guy to die, that he sucks at life & should burn the car to the ground.

and btw... i do appreciate all the input posted thus far.

Im getting a trophey

No, but it is getting bad, there are so many numerous threads that i see every day that HATEEEEEE baddd.
Me? i love my advans, BUT i also LOVE my ebay headlights, and i for one cant stand it when someone says something about that, while having a rattle canned gutted civic.

Expect criticism from people, but the same people shouldnt go as far as to hate as much as they do.

But on the other hand, when i see people get criticized on there cars or parts or whatever, they cant take it and go ahead and try for personal attacks against someone over the damn internet? If you cant be criticized then dont post.

the reason these problems occur are because of people building their car for this forum. people need to remember that this is a internet forum, nothing should be taken to seriously.

"those who mind, don't matter.
those who matter, don't mind."

build it for yourself first, and not to get into some bullshit interweb skwad y0!

a lot of this is the reason why i was driven away from the scene. i can't say i'm not guilty of a little prodding and poking here and there but damn, there's a general lack of respect. i think it's because "the scene" as it were, is on the verge of changing generations...i've noticed that a lot of the newer members are younger...

so it may just be that the generation phasing out is crossing with the newer generation...

i don't know, i may just be crazy. your thoughts?

It's just the interweb Mike. I understand what you're saying, but people should be building cars to make themselves happy and not people on H-T.

If people can't handle the opinions people give about thier cars or they way those opinions are delivered they may not want to be posting their car up for everyone to see. People behind a keyboard have no inhibition as they see no direct consequences, so of course the opinons are going to be biased and uncooth.

Its only the internet. Why would anyone take it seriously?

Some people including me enjoy sparing on the internet from time to time, don't see any thing wrong with that.

Well unfortunately the internet is very serious business. People will always talk **** it's just the way it is. If people are "afraid" to post their car that's their own fault, for caring more about what people on the internet think than what they actually think. If you like your car cool. If you want to share it cool. But don't get pissed if everyone doesn't like it. Just the way things work.

I honestly think that this forum is becoming useless, all it is is bashing. Sure, I've done my fair share of bashing, but mainly due to the fact that people think I'm wrong for voicing an opinion towards a certain car.

What irritates me more than the people who yearn for attention with their own cliques, and try to think everyone else doesn't matter. Then, theres the part of this section of people who just want to up their posts.

GDD lost their post counts what, 2,3 years ago? Yet, this forum was just as worse as far as useless posts.

Phi said it as it is too, by the way

i agree that "the scene" is changing, and a lot of it has to do with media and finances. cost of things and tryign to get quality products is changing... therfore creating a messy car...

also those that do build there cars for themselfs shouldn't be affraid to share...

i mean thats a real problem... if you built something for yourself and are happy and excited about it and want to share, but when you do all you get is negativity then moral and second guessing comes in.

those people that say to expect negative and positives when posting:::::::
you think that its alright for people to say "kill yourself" or "sell that piece of ****"
obviously not constructive criticism at all

The funny thing is that when you look at the cars on here...80% of them all look alike.

That's what really I think should be made fun of.

You got that right

And i Agree with the OP.

Take rotas, people post up their photoshoot and the next thing you know you have someone saying" ROTAS "

Like wtf is that, the wheels look good and do their job right?Thats all it matters, hey if you have the real thing then you know thats good but dont bash people bc theyre not willing to pay 3 grand on wheels when they could get one that looks identical for 1/4 of the price.Criticism is good but you dont need to offend them.
Good criticism would be something like " Nice car, it looks clean. The tails look awkard,i think oem looks better" or "Car is ******* but the front bumper has to go,get a lip kit, it will look much better"

People wouldnt be saying that **** in front of them, they only bash bc its the internet.
