How do you play mp3 on your radio?
it would help if you specified the model number of your head unit..
is there a folder search.. or folder up/down feature? or did you just burn the Mp3s straight onto the disc w/o file folders/directories? are you sure your unit supports CDRW? some just read CDR's... try writing at a slower speed and see if it works.. what brand of CD are you using? I've had good experience w/ TDK, Memorex, Imation, and Sony CDR and CDRW's reading in head units...

hey it's you again. You seem to be the only one reading my post. I have the pioneer deh-p840mp. I just dragged and dropped the mp3 onto the disk. I didn't use any software like I do when converting mp3 to wav and then burn onto cd. I thought these new unit could read mp3 on cd without having to convert.
Try using a burning program like Nero or something, which finalizes the CD after its done burning. This is probably why you just can't drag n drop files. Some Mp3 players also don't have the proper decoder etc to read CD-RW's, so try a normal CD-R if you haven't already.
oh yeah I neglected to notice that the other post is by you.. otherwise I could have figured out what head unit you had.. DEH-P8400Mp... anyway it should be able to read CDR, CDRW, as well as regular audio cds.. and read WAV, MP3, and WMA .. try using some burning software to create a data cd and fill it up and finalize/close the disc and see if it will work.. you might also need to burn at a slower speed (not sure).. my burner is 32X and cd's I write won't read in some of my friends players but it works on mine (Alpine) and in my home cd players.. but not on my Sony Discman...
I've used Nero 5.0 (or is it 5.5 I forget).. to make everything from VCDs (that play on both computer and a DVD/VCD player, MP3 cds, mp3 converted to WAV to play in audio cd players, data cd's, etc..

sounds like you need to finalize the disc. most burning programs (easy cd creator, nero, etc.) have an option to do this before ejecting...i use easy cd creator and it prompts me to finalize the disc whenever i try to eject it.

oh, and if you are going to finalize the cds, just use plain cd-r, not cdrw, or else you will just be wasting your money... once you finalize a cdrw, there is no going back and writing over. Hope that everything works out for you.
