Engine swap questions
I have a ukdm 97 5th gen with a H22a5 and was curious does the jdm h22a out of the 4th fit or isnt it a straight swap im sure it fits fine but what about it having a Knock sensor , also 97-99 had OBD1 and 99+ had OBD2 ? is this correct

not too sure how it is there but here in the states OBD1 was from 92-95 and OBD2 began in 96-01 i believe. Im not sure when they started the OBD2b. The h22 out of the 4th gen should fit in the engine bay with no problems but you will have to put on the necisary parts that make it OBD2. Im sure someone else on here might chime in and give some more info to help you out. and if you haven't already search for you answers with the search button. I think you might be able to find some more info there.
Its a direct swap but you need to change the complete Intake Manifold, Oil pump (with cam/crank sensors), Distributor, and wire harness. all this is necessary in order to keep it OBD II. OBDII makes the car run way better any ways
