Default Best cam setup for stock bottom end?

Hey guys, I have been debating with myself for a while about a cam setup... I could not decide whether I wanted to build my bottom end or not. I have pretty much decided against it, due to the risk of been cited and sent to State Referee... I will be raising my compression, but with only a headgasket.. So now my question is, what is the best cam setup to run then? I was looking at Toda Bs, Cs, and Jun 3s... I want the most power I can get, looking for 200whp+

Some people say Toda Cs won't yield that kind of power with a stock bottom end, some say they will.. Need imput, what do you all think?

Thanks in advance!

Chris

thanx for no help... what exactly does your honda-tech name mean? I find it offensive and somewhat racist, whether *** is your sponsor or not.

I agree, and by the way I say go A's, and if you feel ballzy go with B's, I wouldn't advise going C's without higher compression and other motor work

If I had to get cams, I'd either get Toda A's or Jun 2's. Someone posted the cam specs a few weeks back and these two were in the simlar ball park for both intake and exhaust. (Jun 2's being more aggressive.)

To me, 200 whp is great and all, but I'd just get something that requires less frequent maintenance and headaches. I'm sure it's very do-able to get ~190 whp w/ fat midrange from Toda A's + good I/H/C/E combo + vafc and dyno tuning.

Probably, but you won't have Toda's fat midrange to go with the peak HP.

I would personally go Toda A's on stock compression, with no worries and nice midrange.....but I have Toda C's so what the hell do I know

toda spec B MIGHT get you there, Vegeta's nice *** Toda B setup didn't hit 200whp w/stock compression, but it was pretty bad ***..I believe he ended up around mid 190's

My friend made 193 with Skunk Stage 1 cams on his R. Aem cai and a jdm 4-1 with a milled head. You might know him, he had the black R in svp.

I also hit 193 with the stock bottom end and skunk stage 1's with the stock ecu. Skunk stage 1's are nice for stock compression.

damn right Skunks work!!

Why are you so concerned with numbers? Are you a drag racer? One of the best engines I ever had was a 11:1 compression'd b18c with Type R cams. I made 183/136 and that car pulled hard. (and that was with crappy bolt on too-rs akimoto intake, dc header, greddy exhaust)

I'd say keep the cams you got and get headwork, a good header (SMS) and nice free flowing exhaust. and tune what ya already got. Definitely invest in a hondata or VAFC to microtune. Cam gears are a must.

200 is just a number you won't know the difference between 195 and 200..

i hit 188 whp 130 wtq in my gsr block with p73 pistons, ITR head with skunk2 stage 1 cams, and I/H/E. with hondata and FPR i probably can make close to 200 whp.

I hit 206/137 with stock bottom end with JUN 3's on 96-97 JDM ITR motor.

*Edit* I also have JUN Header, JUN ECU, AEM ITR CAI, 2 1/2" piping with no cat.

go with Cs or JUN 3 with higher compression, it's pretty tight and you will LOVE IT
