damn had a feeling someone would bring that up. i used to have an air compressor tank and that didn't even help me with my timing belt pulley bolt. any other suggestions?

Impact is about your only option. They make special pulley tools, called a chain wrench but I've never used them. Take the alternator off and have a buddy give you a ride to your nearest garage. Ask them to break the nut loose for you. Wrap a shop rag around the pulley and hold on tight (the pulley will spin and cut your hand so be sure to use a shop rag to cover it). Then hit it with the impact and it should come right off. Bring your new pulley with you and have them tighten it with the impact while you're there. Should take you less than 5 minutes, maybe slip them a $20 for beer money.

Also, if it doesnt want to come off, I know that P/S pump pulley's are reverse threaded (righty-loosey, lefty-tighty), I cant remember which way alternator pulley's are.
