Default LS Valve Spring Tricks??

So I've heard you can use OE b16 inners with OE LS Outers for a cheap but somewhat efficient dual valvespring set up.. Has anyone ever tried it? Im curious because im doing a budget LS build right now and that sounds like a mod i might wanna try to save some money.

LS retainers do not have an inner flat"pearch" for an inner spring.

How do you get the retainers and keepers that are for 5.5mm valve stems to fit the 6.6mm LS valve stems?
Just figured it out with the cam spec. You cannot read.

How are you running itr cams in a LS head. Remember he is building a ls, not a vtec motor...

who in the hell would pay several hundred bucks for type r cams for a ls when you could buy crower 403's/404's for almost the same price.

The valve stems on the non-vtec engine is thicker than the vtec counterparts? How the hell are you going to use the vtec springs and retainers on a non-vtec engine????

That's why im asking because i don't know... Im gonna mic the two valve springs here soon and see if there is in fact a difference.

this statement contradicts this statement... So which is true?

dont listen to the tard saying hes running ITR cams he cant read.

anyway you can put b16 inner and outer on the intake side but not the exhaust side. the exhaust springs on a LS are taller where on a vtec they are the same height.

the problem lies in the seat and the retainer, the stock LS retainer (wich you have to use because of the stem diameter of the valve) doesnt have a seat for the inner spring and neither does the spring seat. i know people that have done this though with no problems so take it for what its worth. since its only good for the intake side i wouldnt recommend it for much more than regrind cams, there are some pretty cost effective single springs out there for LS heads that can utilize stock retainers no problem and will handle alot more than a set of b16 intake springs.

So i can use the vtec OUTTERS instead of oe ls but no inners because there is no inner spring pearch? That seems like the correct answer i was looking for. I was wondering if this would be some what benificial to use on crower 402 stage ones?
Becasue i know the Vtec srpings have high spring rates the the ls valve springs correct?

You cannot use them on the EX side as they are too short, and if you shim up the bottom pearch you cannot fit the seal on correctly.

So would there be any benefit to running Vtec springs on the Intake side?
