Default would a front strut bar help 5th gen preludes?

I'm thinking about getting one but don't see much prelude owners having one. Is there any benefit of having one or is it just for looks?

Which one on the market does everyone recommend?

So most 5th gen preludes owners don't bother putting one on? Not worth the money spent?

No it is not worth it. Unless you want it for show.

Alot of people think they work well. if you would like to add one to your lude just keep a few things in mind. those three piece ones that have brackets that go around the strut tower and a peice of bar stock in the middle are by far the weakest of oll strut bars. if you used a one piece welded one you could see some benefit. i cant think of anyone who makes a shelf one like that for a prelude and the three piece ones are garbage......

I remember someone on here welded up their own strut bar for a 4th gen. It was as a good idea and looked decent, but the mounting was a bit fishy if I remember correctly. Anyway, everyone trashed him for a bunch of stuff he posted.

As mentioned already, the three piece ones offer little for the performace of your vehicle. A solid one peice design would be best, but I have yet to see one on the market for preludes.

But if you can weld go for it!

True. I was picturing something more like this. Not necessarily 3 point though.

Don't know about you guys, but this piece is one of the best $170 I've spent on the car. It's a 1 piece Neuspeed strut bar. It looks ok I guess, as far as performance goes, torque steer is completely gone, and handling is improved slightly kinda hard to notice. All in all it works.

The Neuspeed bar is by far the best design available to Prelude owners. It bolts to the control arm bolts instead of the shock mounts, and is a nice solid one-piece design.

I have one in my 4th Gen Prelude and love it.

I guess it depends on the person, I have that same bar, and I did not feel any difference once installed.

You don't need to blow a ton of money on a strut bar, spend that on the anti-roll bars. For the strut tower bars I just got a cheap set off ebay (like 50 bux total). All it does is resist forces that want to deform the body when you accelerate, turn, brake. It helps make sure your car handles like new for many years. If the struts are far from the firewall though, handling becomes noticeably more rigid and precise with strut tower bars.

BS on the no torque steer....

while the prelude does help in less torque steer, its mainly because of the equal lenght axles and not a piece of metal that goes ontop of the strut tower bars....

Yea....BS

A front Strut tower bar isnt going to do anything for TQ steer.....because of the reason Peter said.

actually a lot of people like to keep the front tower bar OFF the car, because it helps rotate the front of the car around a corner....Stiffer front=more understeer. Spend your money on an upper bar for the rear, and a rear sway bar if you want your car to handle better

p.s i still get plenty of TQ steer when im on Nitrous

no...no bs at all. buy the friggin bar and try it. Look at my engine bay...it's a stock h22. Maybe you guys got an extra 100whp that's why you got TQ steer. And I wasn't talking about cornering at all, I meant straight line. I don't do aouto-x and I don't street race through traffic like a lunatic so I wouldn't know about the handling improvements.

Strut bar should be the very last thing to do since it does so little.

torque steer going straight? ok noob just stop now. a Strut bar isnt going to eliminate torque steer, the only thing that can do that are radial support arms, so go back to school noob.

yes toque steer noob. You know when you put it to the floor, and the car wants to turn either left or right. If you don't know about that, then I guess you're driving a piece of crap.
