Replacin B-Pipe, Bolts Rusted over question (Pics)
RIght now I am in the process of replacing my b-pipe. I am going to take this to a shop to have them remove the bolts but it looks really rusted over. Would I need to get a new cat also? it seems to have taken over the whole thing.
Below is the joint between my cat and my b-pipe(the longest exhaust pipe).
Any advice is welcome

You could try a penetrating fluid and tapping it with a hammer to try to break it free, but it looks like you may need to grind/drill/replace the nuts and bolts.

thats what i did on my old 91 Protege. It'll come appart, just make sure the flanges are sealing right and you're good to go.

alright well, i figured out a way to steady the whole pipe and i finally got them off with a breaker bar...except the nuts are stuck inside the bolts now. anyone now how to get those out?
I need the 14mm socket to take the other nut off but its out of service at the moment sicne its stuck in there

Bring it to a shop if you're that incompetent

save yourself the time and just cut the bolts off. Get new ones, they are cheap and it will save you the trouble in the future. Just did it myself.

well ill have to cut one of them off. it was much much faster taking the other ones off than cutting them tho. maybe 15 seconds after i broke the 2 loose they came right off.

Haha, I've been in this position as well. If you want to try to salvage those bolts and nuts, you're going to have to use a torch and get them red hot. Once they're red hot, they'll come right off with no problem.
My suggestion is to just not be such a cheap @$$. If you dont have a bench grinder, go get one, and just hack the bolts off and replace them. New nuts and bolts will cost you very little.
