How much should I b looking at to pay for my Friends Dad is building my LS-VTEC???
Just like the title says Ls/Vtec is being built from my b18a1 block my boys ctr piston,his dad is getting everthing else,rods,head[gsr] we are gunna use gsr parts...all strapped up to a gsr tranny...it will b a full swap when its ready how much should b spent

If your friend's dad is doing all the work and gathering the parts...shouldn't he know how much you should be giving him?

It really depends on how good of friends you are. For me if its a good friend (weekend BBQ or Bar runs, etc) and they asked for help i would just charge them parts. If it was a so so friend i would charge them half labor.
Expect to pay half labor and full parts.

haha thats what i charge for oil changes and easy stuff like that...and they have to supply parts. so in the case of an ls vtec build....a lot of cases of beer. lol

Why not ask to help him out also? Its not a bad time to learn when you have a friend doing the work on the car. Might even cut the labor cost down more, so long as you are helpful and eager to learn

Thats what we are getting to now...he wants me to design tha build and he takes action on it..for the fact of him have accessibility of machists and wat not...it was supposed to go in a drag car because it was like 5 of us contributing to it but now its for me and we only using my block
