16v 2.2 LX

Is it off the upper or lower radiator hose on the engine side? I've read posts that conflict and tell me under the air snorkel passenger side and also drivers side near the the cylinder head.

I come to find out the mechanic installed one a higher temp (195) one and will charge me again to swap it out for oem. My temp gauge is all over the place going as high as 1/3 the way past the 1/2 mark and my fans are now all screwy when they come on.
