Need help cleanin Headlights
hey.........well yeah my head lights makes my car look like its from the 50thies .......they look very yellow and blury any suggestions on how to clean them.....i heard of sand paper.....but not to sure
Go to auto zone and buy a pack of 1500and 2000 wet-ordry trimite, scotchbrite pads, med grit and glazing buffing compounds (i used 3M products at my shop but any will do), and a buffer/buffpad.
First, you dry scuff the headlights with the scothbrite pad. Then with water.
After that, you wet sand them with the 1500 wet-dry sand with the length of the lights. Repeat wet sanding with the finer grit.
Now, you clean them with soapy water. Rinse.
When buffiing always apply the compound on the surface and rub it around with the buffer off and once it gets spread around a bit you can turn the buffer on. When changing to a diffrent compound especially glazing compound, you should always change pads or cleand the other one off really good before use.
I have done this multiple times on all sorts of cars, and i have it down 100% pat.
Good luck!
