CRX wont start < help needed>
well it simply wont start it....... the symptons are rather strange and are as follows :
- vehicle cranks yet refuses to start...
- the fuel gauge increases as the car cranks and stays reading at a full tank for several minutes before returning to normal
- ive replaced the spark plugs and wires....wireing to the dizzy is correct
- power wire to starter has been replaced
im freshly out of ideas its obvious the starter functions as it cranks continuously yet the vehicle refuses to start....ive tested for spark which is present....ive also tested for fuel which is being distributed when the vehicle is being cranked over.....if anyone has any ideas or has had a similiar issue and cares to lend me some input it would be greatly appreciated ....

i certainly checked for spark as to the fuel pump primeing im unsure of checking thing procedure.....if possible id like to somehow host a small video clip of what exactly is happening its alot easier to diagnose this way i would imagine....
Is this a vehicle which was running and then started exhibiting these issues, or is it one you've converted and now it isn't running?
If it's the first, then you probably have a fuel problem.
If it will still run for a moment when you spray it, it is not the distributor.
Their are 3 possibilities. In order of easiness to fix.
-fuel filter; this a very distinct possibility
-fuel relay. this can get cracks, or just burn out and it gets flaky. it is under the left hand side of the car, just above the hood lever and starter relay.
-fuel pump; this is a possibility. it is a PIA, but it is a possibility. If it is bad, then you have to pull the tank, to replace it.
-On the fuel filter, you can just take off the two hoses that attach to it, under the hood. Then you can just try to blow through it. If it doesn't pass air easily, replace it.
-On the fuel relay, you should be able to hear the pump kick on for about 2 seconds, when you first turn on the ignition. The relay has 2 stages, which are both required to power the fuel pump and the injectors.
-On the fuel pump, you can bypass the relay and hot test the fuel pump. The connector fitting is under the rear seat. If you pull off the fuel cap, you should be able to hear the pump running. If it isn't running, then that is probably the issue.
Go with the easiest/most common, first.
