Default 97 Civic DX Swaping to B16A1

Can people please chime in on what I need to do complete a engine swap for my 1997 Civic DX Hatchback.

I called a local shop and they quoted me $2,150 for the parts and $750 for the labor. For a total of $2,900.
The parts were B16A1, Tranny,ECU,Engine Mounts,Axles. The guy said the mounts were made by Avidracing. Do I need anything else? What about the engine wire harness.

Can anybody find me a B16a1 motor, Tranny, ECU for lower than $1,400.
I have bought a ZC motor from nippon-motors back in 2001. Should I go back with that company for the B16?

My stock Civic DX does not have a tachometer. It would be nice to see my RPM level with the new B16 setup. Any ideas on how to get one? I would prefer a new one, and not pick one up at a salavge yard.

Thanks for your help.

What USDM parts are swappable on a JDM B16A1?
The ZC motor used to get engine parts from a USDM intergra.

The engine i want came from a JDM car from 1988-1991. That seems very old. Is that a bad thing to buy such an old engine?

well its an OBD-0 motor so its less powerful and you run into some more wiring issues.

Does that labor include swapping the chassis over to cable driven clutch? Since.,.thats what the a1 is...
Does it include rewiring the ecu connectors, or are you purchasing a jumper?
How sure are you the mounts will even fit an ek?
Thats expensive for such an old engine... Why dont YOU search for your own deals....no one is going to do your leg-work

I really suggest you find something 92+
(meaning, if you really must have a b16, get a b16a2/3 or jdm sirII at the very least)

For a tach get a complete ex cluster - plug ad play, has a tach
(or from an em1, doesnt matter)
Go ahead and buy it new...but thats stupid.
3rd party tachs are ugly and silly looking.

You come off like an OG, complaining about h-t not being like it used to be, yet you cant search for this stuff, like you know you should?
