Default wiseco pistons and darton sleeves

I wanted to run wiseco pistons for my car, most probably 11.5:1 to keep the power. I don't plan on going turbo, I just need to sleeve my block because my walls are scored and all OS pistons won't seat well because my block is messed up. But does it matter really what size I get from 87-89mm, will they all generally perform the same? I wanted to run darton sleeves with these because they seem to be the cheapest. Will I need rods as well to run it or are sleeves and pistons enough? Any suggestions on what to do or where to get them?

why dont u just get ur cylinders bored out and use oversized type s pistons....the you wont have to worry about getting sleeves. It would cost way more to buy the sleeves....get ur cylinders bored then get them pressed in. Just something to think about

my walls won't take the OS pistons because my walls are all messed up, the biggest they run are 87.25, and I tried putting them into the block, and they fall right into, and there is too much play, so my oil burning issue won't be solved. I need to run sleeves with forged pistons.

Yeah, the type-s pistons aren't oversized enough to take out any gouges in the cylinder walls.

You just have to ask yourself what your performance goals are. If you're doing a simple stockish rebuild than stick with the 87mm's That way if anything happens in the future you have room to bore. Also, your stock rods will work just fine.

Well I would love to have 200whp, but I just want a fun daily driver honestly. I already have a camp1320 header, that will be put in after all this. So in the end I'll have a ebay pipe with a soon to be bpi flowstack, darton sleeves with wiseco 87mm 11:1 pistons, some no name exhaust (dual) that was on the car when I bought it, and the camp1320 header, along with a exedy stage 1 clutch and Pro-Lite 12lb flywheel.

I just want to solve the problem of the burning oil honestly, and I think this should do it all. When I looked at my block I saw that my pistons in there had a little gap on either side and that it had a little play. Along with the walls being scored, so I am guessing this was my problem.

if your going to sleeve a shitty block, why not just get a good bare block, transfer all the goodies over and get it bored .25 over and get some Type-S pistons..it would still be cheaper then that set up ur planning and you will make more power. think about it.

that would make it WAAAY easier
didn't u read? he NEEDS to run sleeves with forged pistons

^^ type-s pistons aren't forged yo.

thats not a half bad idea though, prolly cost alot less as long you can find a good donor block and a good machine shop to bore/hone the FRM.

Finding a good SH block is not easy, I have searched quite a bit for it, but cannot find anything that is the reason I NEED to get sleeves and forged pistons. I cannot mate a base block to it. If you guys know where to get it, please let me know. I know a new block would end up cheaper, but all I see are base blocks, which don't help.

But what are general prices for sleeves, because I have seen them for around $600 or so for Dartons, and I have seen Wiseco pistons for around $425 with rings.
