can you paint over carbon fiber.. is there a special process ??

 

Yeah just scratch up the surface. If you get down to the carbon, sanding will eat it up quickly. You can use a regular paint gun but keep the temperature low (I'd say under 95F) and let it dry at room temperature.

I have a question though, why would you want to do this? The only reason to pay hundreds of dollars for CF is cosmetic.

 

i want the high wing for my dc5 and the oem one is like 500 bucks and the cf one is like 250 so i figured i go 250 then if i dont like it ill paint it to pwp

 

Good thinking. My buddy hit a deer and bought CF hood because it was cheaper than stock and painted it because he thinks CF is rice.

 

i think i might dig the cf tho cause i got tints and black wheels and im gona do the black housed jdm replica headlights

 

Yeah, just leave it for awhile so you can decide if you like it.

 

it will look awkward without a cf hood or lip. trust me lol, my car was like that for a good month or two
