Default Getting rid of stock intake nonsense

I have an EM1...

I just installed my aem sri, and I was wondering what the best way is to get rid of the stock intake tube that goes in a loop near the right fender. You can see it in this pic... One side of the tube is directly in front of the filter.. Thanks!

Take off your bumper and then unbolt the box ....

You had to ask this?

Yeah, taking off the right fender and not needing to would suck...

When I looked down that looked like the way to do it. Sorry brother, we aren't all born car experts.

Thanks for the help friend

You don't need to take off the fender. You don't need to be an expert to take off your bumper .... it's held on by like 6 clips and 4 bolts.

I know people call you a dick all the time, blah, blah, blah... I really don't think you're a dick, but you really seem tired of helping people that are at the bottom... Dude I've never taken off my front bumper before, I've had my car for a month and a half. I'm still proud that I put that intake in myself. Haha, thanks again.

no he's a dick, you should help people at all levels reguardless of how many times and if you get tired just stop helping,

but yea there should be a bolt on the fenders holding the bumper to the fenders, also clips and or bolts holding the bumper in the front

its easy

I am a dick. And I don't get tired of helping people ... I just get tired of answering the same questions day in and day out.

I suggest Duplicolor Bumper/Trim paint. Very nice, even flat black.

Why does he have to conform to what you think is cool and what is rice?

Get the fvck out with calling me a troll. You talk out your *** half the time and spread misinformation. At least I'm helpful, no matter how much of a dick I am. You've been here 12 days. Don't start throwing the troll flag.

I just installed a JsRacing intake on my UK VTi, I didnt need to take the bumper off to get that out.

Inside the wheel arch there is a plastic guard that you can take off (you dont always need to completely take it off) which is close to the front bumper, also underneath the car is another plastic guard type thing which is underneath the radiator area - all i did was unbolt half of this and pull it back - doing this gave me access to unbolt that section of the stock intake and pull it out!

Hope that helps

The clips that hold the fender liner to the fender are often rotten and weatherbeaten. You're more likely to destroy a clip and need to replace it if you do it that way (just personal experience).

Ah - Mines were all plastic apart from 2 metal on the plastic guard underneath !

Edit: I see what you are saying (nothing to do with rust) - but in my case they were ok!

Has to do with the weather and age of your car, mostly.

Are you talking about your fender liner?

Thanks for all the help guys, and thanks for the paint tip Eran...

I don't think my mesh looks too bad, I like it better than stock. I'm gonna get fog lights sooner or later so the little pieces will be gone. This is the best pic I cant find of it, lol...

I'm gonna go try to tackle this right now.
