Default turbo gsr rev limit issue

K i have a turbod 99 gsr. I was on my way home and taking a bend in the road at high speed. I was in 4th gear easing into the gas peddle and half way through the corner and it was like my gas peddle didnt work. My eingine was still runnig but no acceleration. I came to a stop and revved up my car and it revved up. I started grabbing gears and it ran awesome until 5000 rpm and then it started popping and missfiring like at the 8500 red line. So i took it home thinking i blew my engine. I shut the car off and started again and everything was alright i could rev it up all the way to 8000 and took it for another drive and worked fine. So what the heck does the car deregulate itself at times or what. I wasnt bagging the car it just sorda happend when i pushing the limit around the corner. If anyone knows what this is about please let me know. thx

Boost cut doesn't manifest repeatably at a specific rpm like a revlimit, at least not if he tries in different gears or throttle angles, etc.

I'm voting for bad ignitor or bad thermostat housing ground.

That or anything like moisture or corrosion in the distributor cap.
