Default Quick Question

Hello,

I'm replacing the tie rod end and the inner tie rod on my 1990 civic Si. Ive taken the old part off and have put the new inner tie rod on BUT I have a bit of a problem. The rubber boot you cover the inner tie rod with has a hole in it. Not a big cut or anything. maybe a 2mm hole. What I'm wondering is if this is normal or not.

Thanks

is it a rip or is it pretty symetrical (did i spell that right i dont even know what that damn word means) anyway i doubt theres supposed to be a hole in it since its full of grease. new boots are pretty cheap and easy as hell to put on. so why not get a new one

Yeah thats what I thought. I already ordered a new one but was just wondering if the hole was supposed to be there.

Thanks.

Nope, supposed to be sealed. Put the new one on and get it aligned.
