Default 225/50 16's - Rub on a Type-S?

Heya folks. Been a while since I've posted on Honda Tech.

My father is ready for new tires for his RSX-S, and has tasked me with looking for them. He doesn't want to get extreme, but I'd like to resize his tires a little bit. He's on stock rims of course.

On my R, my first set of new tires had me upsize the width just a little, while cutting the height a tad to counteract the width increase (went from 195/55s to 205/50s). I'd like to do something similar with his RSX, but the tires I'm looking at don't necessarily come in those sizes.

I'm thinking 225/50 16s for him, but want to make sure they won't rub or otherwise be a nuisance. Has anyone run this size successfully, or is there another tire size in 16s that you'd suggest for a little better tire width without increasing the height of the rubber. I'd like to make sure his handling doesn't suffer (naturally, I'd hope for a slightly better bit of handling from a new tire size choice) but would like to improve a touch on the stock settings.

Thanks for the help folks.

I figured that would be overboard, too bad I can't get 215s in that size.

No worries, will stick with stock tire sizes for 'em then.

Thanks for the help.

I ran it for years. Was my first upgrade to the RSX and even lowered it never rubbed. I ran the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S in the 225/50R 16.

I've heard that unless your lowered without a correct camber adjustment, only then will it rub. Even though I've heard this many times, I'm still hesitant.
