Whoa, 6 puck clutch slipping bad.
Alright, so I brought up the fact that my clutch was slipping in a different thread. It would slip randomly, as if it got too hot or something...I'm not sure. And then maybe 5 minutes later it would engage just fine.
Well, today I'm driving along and then the car revs up some and I'm like "#$@^&#@!!" so I back off the gas a bit to let it catch. It catches and I'm driving fine. Get to the stoplight and I'm about to pick up my friend, turn left....slip. Pick him up and I have to go to the end of the street, reverse, then go back the other way. So I reverse and it's fine. Go forward and I'm just letting off the clutch nice and everything and the pedal is out all the way and the RPMs climb to oh about 3.5k or so and the car is barely moving. I let off the gas some and it hardly goes anywhere.
It finally catches some and starts going, I shift and the engagement is sooooo slow. It revs up and finally catches a bit and then time to shift again and the same problem. It kind of sloshes into gear. I'm not even driving it hard or anything and it f*cks up like this. It's pissing me off.
At one point it started shifting normal and then I came to a stoplight and it was back to the same old ****. You will not believe how slow the engagement is...from a dead stop trying to go, it barely moves...a baby could crawl faster. Then it will grab eventually and pick up speed....then shift and blah blah. You get the idea.
I'd hate to think that the clutch is burned up, because I just got this swap done a few weeks ago and I haven't driven the car hard. Maybe it's the stop and go traffic here in WA and it's too much stress on the clutch? I really don't know. Maybe someone has some ideas?

Did you install the clutch yourself ?
Did you make sure that the flywheel surface was free of grease and dirt ?
Did you make sure the Disk was installed correctly, making sure the correct side of the disk was installed against the flywheel ?
Did you make sure the pressure plate was free of grease and dirt ?
What did you torque the pressure plate down at ?
What clutch was it ?
Did it do ths from the beginning ?
Just trying to figure out a few things to help you out.

ACT EXTREME pressure plate is rated for 500hp and 479fpt
ACT extreme heavy duty pressure plate is rated for 400hp and 379fpt
Both can accommodate the act extreme six puck disc. Never seen a 6 puck rated for 750 hp . Who makes it , I might be interested. Most clutches I know Rated for that amount of power run 2-5k .

Dude, who gives a expletive...all you ever do is go into a thread throwing around smart *** remarks. Who cares what a 6 puck or 4 puck or regular disc is rated at and why I put it on?
Anyways, I had the shop do it when they did my manual conversion. So to be honest, I don't know if it was free of grease or dirt...I did not have this problem in the beginning. I am assuming everything was right because they are very reputable and this problem just recently started happening. I had new throw out and pilot bearings, new master and slave cylinders, new clutch fluid reservoir, new clutch fluid line, etc.
The only thing is - the transmission that I have did not come with the dust cover to go over the bottom of the flywheel, so that could be causing some problems if some dirt got inside there......
I've checked at the Honda dealership and online and cannot find the dust cover...seems like it doesn't even exist.

he's spraying nitrous genius. check his sig.
to the OP: have you bled the clutch to ensure it doesn't have any air in the lines?
I doubt highly that a metal puck clutch is going to be affected much by stuff getting onto it, at least not for long.

The clutch was bled at the shop. One thing I did notice though is that on the slave cylinder, the dust cap for the bleeder screw is missing. It was on there but they must have forgotten to put it back on. Could that cause any problems?
how long ago did the shop do this work? if it hasnt been very long i would take it back and see what they think might be the problem. just be sure not to jump on em and automatically assume its their fault.
Maybe been 3 or 4 weeks since I got my car back. So it hasn't been that long at all...I could take it up there but they might just say they don't know, since it doesn't act up all the time. It's strange...
Well if it was only a couple of weeks ago then I would surely take it back to whom it was installed by. If you had air in the line still, it wouldnt work sometimes and not other times. Just curious did you break in the clutch , or did start gassin the first day. I have know for a fact that if the clutch disk was installed incorrectly then the life of the disk get reduced extremely fast. Also do you know the Brand of the Clutch. There is so many reasons why your clutch is acting up on ya, What I would do is either drop the tranny myself or take it back , gotta get in there and see whats going on , But one thing is for sure , by what your telling us , its a clutch problem.
