Default Alternative to rear drum brakes on an '07 Civic LX Coupe?

Hi I'd like to replace the rear drum brakes with discs so they match the front. What would be the best route to go about it while still being affordable.

Honestly drums are not as bad as you think....

There are numerous OTHER things that you can spend your Coin on.

Also keep in mind that for the money of doing this AND voiding your brake warranty ... really isn't worth the +'s IMO.

Initially I wanted the EX, but then I looked at the features of the LX model and noticed that the EX had nothing added I really desired other than the disc brakes for the rear. The $1,600+ different in price between the price seemed kind of steep for basically rear disc brakes, a better stereo and a moonroof (which I don't really care about). I just wanted the additional safety feature offered by the EX without paying the EX price.

Just thinking I could do the disc brake modifications on my own and save myself the money. But now that I think about it, most of the braking power is the front brake so it wouldn't be that great of an investment. Thanks for the comments guys.

The most affordable way to go about it would be finding a wrecked si/ex at a junkyard and raping parts off of it.... but like type X mentioned you'd be better off spending your money on other mods

Drums work perfectly fine, plus they are lighter then disc brakes... The only real problem I have with them is that they suck when they get wet (coming out of a car wash)...

Let me make this clear... Drums work perfectly fine on the rear of the vehicle with disc brakes on the front... Four wheel drums suck since most of your stopping power comes from the front brakes...

im still junkyard hunting. great thread btw, i was going to make one. im aware that the disc are not much different from the drums when it comes to braking power, but i wanted it for the following reasons:

1. cant have volks on top of drums that would look weird lol.. (dont know about the volks anymore however)

2. discs just look better

3. ive mastered the art of brake pad changes on a disc. i wouldnt wanna change the fronts and take it somewhere for the rears. lol

4. would be nice lil project

its not really a "must" for me but if the opportunity comes and i find cheap rear discs and have nothing to do, ill be back with pics

Yeah those were pretty much my reasons as well. I wanted to put rims on it since I don't like the plastic hubcaps and rims just don't look right with drums.
