99 Accord Cruise Control problem
The cruise control on my mother-in-law's 99 Accord EX-V6 has started to malfunction. No idea how long it's been giving problems, I suspect she never used it.
The light on the dash button comes on when you press it, the light on the instrument panel comes on when you engage it, but it doesn't hold speed. Also, as the speed drops off, the engine will downshift, but not accelerate.
Any ideas? I haven't double checked the fuse box, but if I read the owner's manual correctly, the fuse for the cruise control is the same as for the ECU ... I figured if that fuse was blown, the engine wouldn't even run.

transmission slipping? the transmissions in these cars, especially in the V6 models, are horrible.

Could be the actual cruise control module itself. If she doesn't have any other problems while driving, such as the transmission slipping, then I'd say it's most likely the module.
