how to clean n polish a used crankshaft
well. i just got a crankshaft..looks fairly well....but in sure it could look better....can i get some pointer on how to make it look new again? or closest to it ..can i use break cleaner? wd-40?..... might be a stupid question. but i prefer ask a dumb question then make a dumb mistake......

If the journals are smooth and shiny (like they should be) just use a lint-free rag and wipe them off. You can use brake cleaner, which will evaporate without leaving behind any residue. Then use the wd40, or clean engine oil to coat the journals to keep them from rusting before assembly.
As far as polishing...you aren't going to be able to properly do that by hand. It's done by a machine at the machine shop. (it's called a micro polish).

Your polish, and what a machine shop considers polish are 2 different things. Since I see your in Kissimmee, I'd say contact a local machine shop (like AutoMachine or a few others) and they can take care of it.
