since your car in not started the compresser can't work. So when you have your key in the on postion its just blowing air... im not an hvac person so if any one can explain it better or correct me.

does it blow cold air when your car is in motion? If you start your car and sit at idle your not going to get cold air. the compressor may kick in when you start your car but the way it works is when your car is in motion that's when it circulates the freon more efficently. At idle speed that's not enough energy to circulate the freon. IF you give it gas at idle(not recommended if you just started your car) you'll notice it will start blowing cold air. IT works off your belt and at idle speed is not enough energy.

yea i know all of that.....but it continues to blow even when i switch the level off...it continues to blow at full power and i dont know whats the deal im not worried about cold air i know you gotta be in motion and all. i was just saying that the ac blows even when i dont start the car and the power level is off.
