06's are sexier. lol

No rev hang on 07's from what I've heard. Wish Honda would fix mine but it's not within the VIN range. ugh.

i've driven both and i can say that the DBW on the 07 is much improved. rev matching is a lot easier especially in higher rpms. the initial bite on the brakes is also more gradual. its just wierd that the '07 CSX Type S (JDM Civic body + USDM Civic Si running gear sold up here in Canadia) has the same mega delay in throttle as does the 06 Civic Si

07 Civic Si

All I can say is.. VSA KICKS ***!

You take a turn incredibly too fast, then the car is like "hey dumbass what the hell are you doing"

and brakes you, and won't let you accelerate all the way either, pretty much a newbie driver can track this car and preform well. (like me!)

and yea this "DBW lag" that everyone complains about, I think its all placebo. You think its there when you are just trying to rev your engine normally, but the car is smarter than you. If you let the clutch out almost to the engage point (where the car almost cuts off unless you gas it ) and then try to rev your engine theres no delay at all, and even more so when you are at the engage point.

your joking right.

in wanted to see how much of an aid/hinder it really was. So i did a few AutoX runs with it and a few without it. For any kinda of performance driving what so ever it should be turned off. I gained 2 seconds in a 40 some second run w/ it off. I just cut power like crazy. So you can not learn (become a better driver) what the car is doing w/ it on.

Its almost like Gran Turismo. I will dog your *** if i have the TCS and ASM off.

Everyday driving though I could really careless. I dont turn it off.

good points. but lets all remember vsa wasnt designed to make your car a track demon lol it was designed as a saftey thing. its designed to cut your power and return the car to safe handling speeds, not all the sudden give you the uber autox Skillz. so yeah you can go faster around a track without it but it isnt made to help you go faster its made to help you slow down. and do so safely and keep you in control more or less.

thanks for all the replys guys! You guys are too helpful.. i can already tell this is a great forum. I'm really hoping I can be an 07 SI driver soon. the only problem though is the price.. which was why I asked about the 06, assuming it might be more affordable for me. I was just concerned about the major goodies: LSD, Nicer seats.. 6 speed, cool shift ****, etc.

Check out Norms in Hunginton Beach. Go talk to the fleet manager. He gives the best discounts.

I didn't think the VSA had anything to do with your brakes... I thought it cut the throttle at the signs of traction loss.. If it were to actuate your brakes you would be SOL in the rain, traction loss + wet pavement + brakes = in a ditch. I dunno correct me if I'm wrong..

I was checking the 2007 Si specs at the Honda dealer a couple days ago here in Canada and it said nothing about VSA. Can anyone confirm that the 2007 Canadian Si didn't get VSA?

I test drove an 07 civic si this past wednesday in preparation for upgrading from my 04' EP3, and all I have to say is that the car is great, but that damn VSA started freaking out on me when i made an "I guess" sharp left turn. Worst part was, I did not know that the 07's had any sort of traction control system until I got home later that day, so I had no clue what the hell the wrong haha. Oh, i turned up the radio and the driver's side vent area seemed like it was rattling. I don't want anymore damn rattling ****, EP3's did enough of that, except near the glovebox

One thing I have noticed is the inside lights are different colors (Under the RPM's where the mileage is.) The 06's have an amber background with black font and the 07's have a black background with amber font. Not that it matter but it is something different.

the VSA dosnt brake you it just cuts the throttle when it has traction loss. launch the car with vsa on and see what happens. car almost stalls out.

Here is the biggest difference.
A 2006 model is going to be used (most likely)
A 2007 model will be New

yea, that's what I noticed, so it still feels like you're braking
