Kind of a noob ? but here goes. I know b16 are 81mm and b18 are 81.50 right? Now does a .5 mm make up .2liters on the bore size, or is it in the stroke of the crank? Reason I'm asking is because I'm boring and sleeving my gsr block to 83mm. Does it still qualify as a 1.8 liter or so on with the larger bore? No flames please, just trying to get some general knowledge. Thanks
its a silly question but not coming from a newbie. the B16 and B18 all share a 81mm bore, the extra displacement comes from the stroke of the crank.

so even though it has a larger bore, it still is a 1.8. I kinda thought that but I couldn't find in the search the stroke differences from a b16 and b18. Thanks
if you increase bore you increase displacement too. im just telling you the difference between the B16 and B18. lets take an LS motor its got a 89mm crank displaces something like 1834cc and then take a B20 its got the same 89 mm crank but displaces 1996 if i remember right. same stroke different bore.
