Looking to clean my interior VERY good tomorrow
I know there was a thread on this about a month ago, but can't seem to find it for the life of me.
I'm looking to take my carpet and seats out tomorrow and do a very good clean to get all the stains out and get it looking new. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use to get the stains out (ie. Simple Green, Oxy Clean, a Rug Doctor, etc.)? I just want to get something powerful enough that can make it look new or if not new, pretty close to it.
I'm also thinking of getting some hyper white bulbs for the dash gauges so I don't have to look at that ugly teal color anymore.

I prefer Simple Green to clean the car interior. I wipe down the interior with clean water afterward.
I now stay away from Oxy Clean, ever since it yellowed part of my off-white carpet in my house.

Try FOLEX.....you can pick it up at target or wall-mart along with an interior brush as well. It's nice because it doesn't leave a chemical smell and works pretty well.

Wait so, what do you do? I'm thinking of taking the carpet out of the car and cleaning it that way. Do you just pour the Simple Green through out the carpet, let it sit, then spray away?

This is what I do:
1. I dry vacuum the interior, seats and carpet.
2. Spray Simple Green on individual seats (don't soak the area, just spray enough on, and let the cleaner (surfactant) do the work), may have to scrub gently with brush for heavy stains, then wipe with a wet sponge. You don't have to wait. I usually rinse the sponge and wipe with clean water repeatedly, until most of the cleaner is gone.
3. Then I move on to the carpets. I usually do one area at a time. Repeat as necessary. (It's up to you if you want to remove the carpet.)

Dupont makes a foaming action carpet cleaner. Let it soak for a good 15 minutes and proceed to vacuum.
works great! And smells better than simple green
