What motor?

Some you don't really "know"....because it's been said over and over and over that VTEC engagement is dependent on various circumstances. So you could be driving in VTEC and not even feel it or anything. It comes on more often than you think.

True...but to me, that would get annoying really fast.

With all due respect, why does it matter? do you think its malfunctioning or are you just interested.

Anyways when VTEC is on, you should hear a difference in sound at higher RPM. I saw this video and sometimes VTEC kicks in when you're on the freeway and such. It's harder to hear it on SOHC engine. DOHC are a little bit easier. If you want a light to show you that it's on, do it.

Why do I want a VTEC light you say? Just like why do we want turn indicators in the gauge cluster. It's because we want to see that the thing working.

On the F23, I don't hear a damn thing. But you know when a B16 hits VTEC because that **** is LOUD. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH . But no, you probably won't hear it with your SOHC. I can feel a tiny boost starting around 4k on up to 6k, but it might just be a bit of upper end torque.

why worry about it..why would you want a light in your car coming on and off all the dang time..thats stupid..just so you can yell YES VTEC..thats just stupid to me..like 98salvage said that would get old really fast..in a SOHC you wont be able to feel or hear a difference and it doesnt "kick" in at high rpms..it can kick in anywhere from like 2300 i believe to like 4400 or something like that..in most cases its lower...you dont have to floor it for it to come on you can just be cruising and it will engage...the power you are talking about at higher RPMs is the torque peak...in a civic you can hear it better its a SOHC too but i can notice it a lot more in my friends civic than in my accord...now if you have a b16..h22..blah blah blah..you can feel it a lot more and hear it..its really damn loud on a s2k i love it lol
