99 Lude with 64k losing oil
I read some of the other topics on burning oil, I was wondering where I should Look? Could this be valve seals? Or PCV? Here's my situation.....
I have a 99 prelude with 64k on the clock. I was using conventional 5w-30 most of its life, recently i noticed that it was about a quart and a half low in between oil changes about 2500 miles into it. I started monitoring the oil level more carefully, checking the exhaust, parking spot, and engine, but no leaks or smoke. I changed the oil after I had to add the quart and a half with Mobile One 5-w30 and about 200 miles later I am 3/4 of a quart low with no noticable leaks or smoke.
Does anyone have any ideas for where I should be looking for the oil leak.

wow it sounds like the motors burning the **** out of your oil which isnt good at all my girlfriends intrigue burns oil real bad and i still cant figure out why its doing it either
I burn oil in mine too, and when I ripped the block apart, my walls were scored and there was a gap between my pistons and walls, but I don't know if that is your problem. Check valve seals or rings, there are many possibilities.
very common on the h22a4 motors, i read that the piston rings go out and yes i did do research on it because mines is also burning oil but imma replace it with the type s pistons and piston rings BTW i lose bout a quart like in a 2week period .. juss check oil everytime you pump and see how many miles does it add to it, hope i helped
most likely its your piston rings -- i mean the oil control rings not the compression rings...so a problem with them would not show up on a compression or leakdown test. theres not much you can do about it without tearing down the motor, but you should switch to high mileage oil...i recommmend castrol gtx in the green bottle

Seriously consider going back to conventional oil. Your Prelude started its life with conventional. I played around with synthetic oil and noticed I was burning more than normal. Switched it back to conventional and everything is good.
