Default wont go past 3.5, 4 rpm's

alright i got a 94 honda accord ex with a stock f22 sohc vtec 5sp and wen i step on the gas i drive good untill 3 or 4 rpm's and then i got to shift it to the next gear well anyone know if its the tranny or ecu or anyother thing that would give me this problem!! i had the headgasket fix a year ago and it never worked right after that!!!

one of my buddy s had the same problem wit his f22 accord it probably has somethin to do wit ecu/fuel cut out maybe,i do kno that one reason my buddies wouldnt run was because he had bad rings

sounds to me like th vtec is not kicking in, when i put in my vtec engine, i did not have the ECU for it yet, so the b2 ecu allowed that car to run but did not control the vtec, and thats what mine was doing when it did not hit vtec.

its ok until a little above 2.5 then the power band starts to run out and by the time your at 4 there is no power and the RPM is bouncing right. if so then i bet thats the problem.

are you low on oil? if the motor is low on oil vtec will not engage.

i dont think its the vtec! cuz if it is it will still go past the 3.5 or 4 rpm's it wont go past that its like it wont accurlate after that but dont know wat it is!!!!

Deffinatly sounds like a dying fuel pump. You dont even have to drop the tank to change the fuel pump, unlike most cars.

vtec can engage at various times...just because your getting all the way to 3.5 to 4k rpms doesnt mean your vtec is engaging..check your oil and if its low thats the problem..i had that problem a while back when my car leaked oil horribly and when it got low vtec wouldnt engage and it wouldnt go past 4k

yea i bought the accord like a year ago and felt like i need some power and bought the si hatch with a gsr but im having bad luck with cars!! but if anyone intrested in the accord email me at espinoza_69@hotmail.com ill post pics if yall wont but dont wanna get banned from here so just email me or something i got pics!!

how do u change the fuel pump w/o dropping the tank, cut a hole under the rear seat?
