Default Sway bar upgrade question

I have an 07 EX 4dr and was thinking of going with the 07 SI 4dr sway bars.

Is there a substantial difference? I would think they would pretty well bolt right up.

Has anyone on here done this yet?

I figured this out this morning and ordered my upgraded sway bars for my Civic this morning.

EX front 24.2mm
EX rear 10mm

SI front 27mm
SI rear 17mm

You need just the sway bars and bushings. I got everything needed for $115.67 shipped brand new from a Honda Dealer.

They also said they don't have the HFP suspension for the 4dr

Would the Civic SI suspension work on the EX?

Honestly they are different spring rates etc etc
For your car to have a specific application designed for maximum performance from the factory.
It would really seem useless to apply the one NOT for your car.

Especially since 98% of the reason for going with HFP... is the applied warranty with honda that it comes with.......which I'm sure.. Honda would not satisfy if applied on the wrong vehicle.

But it would make my car handle better wouldn't it?

Would Honda be able to tell the difference? What about Camber?

Yes... The parts have to be sent back for warranty work and there are numbers on the units.

Not needed for this minimal drop.

I am going to call Honda Warranty and speak with them.

I tougher spring rate would be nice compliment to the SI sway bars. Then as far as handling goes it would match the SI that has the HFP package.

SI sway bars with SI HFP suspension... sounds like a winning combo to me as long as honda doesn't mind.

Well I went with the front and rear SI sway bars. I did that because of warranty and I have never seen a rusted OEM bar (not that it cannot happen, I have never seen it), but the after market ones get ugly unless you only drive in the summer. Then they don't get ugly as fast. Unless of course you live near the ocean.

Also you will see an increase either way, but the progress is thicker. If you are going to slop up the car with tons of aftermarket then just do the progress. But the honda ones are cheaper and I am getting both with bushings for the price of the rear progress

Trust me, I was at the Honda Dealer the other dya, if the item is not specifically for your car, i.e. SI springs for EX, then warranty will not cover it if anything happens. EX kit is deisgned for EX. If they wanted the SI to fit all, they would of said SI suspension fits all civics. Be safe, stick with the EX kit.

If the guy wants an Si swaybar let him get it. It's not going to hurt him in any way.

If Honda won't warranty a swaybar, no big deal. How many people have gone back to the dealership for swaybar problems? It's a step up for his car, be happy for him.

Personally I would have just bought an Si...wait i did.

As far as warranty goes we are referring to hfp shocks.

I would have an SI except I want the fuel economy of the EX.

The first post says Si Sway Bars, I was going by that.

I'd quote it but I can't for the life of me figure out how to quote, I hit the "quote" button and nothing happens.

Do the factory si's tend to understeer? They need a bigger rear bar. If so, a factory 27mm front and a progress 22mm rear may be a sweet combo for the ex!

any thoughts?

A bigger rear bar would be nicer I suppose.

As for understeer, couldn't tell you. I think every front wheel drive car oversteers...but then again I come from the muscle/classic camp. I only drove an FF car 3 or 4 times before last summer when I bought my first Civic...still not used to hard cornering with FF.

any thoughts?</TD></TR></TABLE>

i believe that si's do tend to understeer. from what i understand putting a ex front sway w/ the si or the progress rear sway is a good combo
