Metallic touch up paint...
Alright, I've seen some little tubes of metallic touch up paint and the color isn't even close to what my car is. I have an OEM paintjob - Heather Mist Metallic that's been on the Accords for years. I was wondering if a spray form of the touch up paint would match to the car or if it would be just as useless as the tubes.
Most light metallics are not easy to get a very close match, such as your color. Touching up that type of color can be tricky. Your probably getting dark blobs where your applying the t/u because of the metallics in the paint. Its best to have a highly skilled, exp. tech do it, but if your picky refinishing would be ideal.

Touch up paint on a scratch or chip is always going to be noticeable, if you want it done right, it needs to be refinished. IMO I'd rather have a scratch on my car than a scratch filled with off color paint.

Well it's not that I have scratches...it is my front bumper that has taken a beating and I have no idea what happened. It started off with tiny chips and then huge ones started appearing and down on the lower grill, there is a chip that runs sideways across maybe 8 or 9 inches.
I was planning on just painting my bumpers and sideskirts black...might be the better option...

Yeah if you have that many chips, it might be a good idea to go for the gold, and do it all.

metallic paint i ver hard to keep the same, i say paint it all if there is a lot, becuase that way the body shop or who ever does it can get a good color match.

Pretty much anytime someone uses touchup paint it looks worse than it did before. Ecspecially with a metalic all the metalic will more than likely sag to the bottom. From the sounds of it you have alot of chips so just refinish it.
I bought some touch up from 123touchup.com or whatever the site is and it was gold. The bottle it came in had silver paint inside and when I opened it, it was gold to the touch. So I shook it up and what do you know.....gold. I asked if they sent the wrong color and they said that's the way it comes out. I was pissed...spend $40 or whatever it was.
