88 Sway Bar Setups
I'm looking at sway bars for my 88 CRX. Right now it has the stock front sway and stock lack of rear sway. I've searched and read about alot of the setups you guys are running (apparently in 89-91s) with small or no front sways and large rear sways. The 88s have a much stronger passive rear steering effect so from what I gather just putting on a large rear sway will cause snap oversteer. I was thinking of a Neuspeed 22mm front and rear setup for a more neutral effect. So what are you guys running on these things and how do they feel?
The passive steering effect is basically eliminated when the car is lowered and sprung stiffly. The only time the passive steering goes into effect is during body roll. Eliminate the roll and don't worry about it.
I'm running the ST bar on the middle setting with an HF bar up front. I'm running 10k springs up front and 8k springs in the rear on koni shortened revalved shocks.
The car feels great. Don't forget that alignment and ride height also effects the balance of the car.

just get a 22mm rear swaybar. keep your stock front bar. only the driver will cause the car to oversteer. any car can "snap oversteer" due to the driver's improper inputs.
getting a larger frotn bar is the wrong direction you want. especially an aftermarket 22mm front bar.
as for "passive rear steering", lets be clear, ALL honda cars have "passive rear steering". the 88's just have it more pronounced and then dialed back a bit in later years. and as glagola mentioned, pretty much any difference is washed out when lowering the car.

Yeah I know all hondas have some level of passive rear steering but the 88s have considerably more and it does feel really wierd lol.
Anyhow if I autoX it which I probably will I'll just be doing it for fun since I have alot of random mods that would put me out of any reasonable class. I may also get into some acctual track racing.
I figured that most of the oversteer issues could be solved not over driving the car but I was just curious since I read that 88s would need to have their suspensions tuned differently. I was also wondering what could be done to change the rear steering effect and now I know, I figured thats how it worked but I didn't know for sure. Is there any benifit to not lowering/stiffening the CRX as much to keep more rear steering? Or is the best plan to just eliminate it then balance it without it in the picture?
As for other balancing factors the car is gonna be lower but I didn't want to bring alignment changes into the picture just yet aside from maybe 1 degree negative camber all around if I can. I'm goin one step at a time.
