my new project car
ok so its not a honda, but its the next best thing. 1957 VW Oval Window bug with 36 horsepower of pure fury. I was a VW guy before Hondas, and I'll be a VW guy after Hondas. What do you think started the whole 4cyl Import Scene back in the 60's.
A couple other pics of some goodies lurking in my garage. Some of you So Cal guys might see this Tan 67 running at Fontana this summer.

damn that thing is freakin clean. ive been into VWs too( the air cooled ones=the real ones)..lol. my pops had a european 67. so it has the smooth lights of a 66 and older, with front disc brakes. thing was bad ***.
my buddies dad has an 11 second nos bug that just sits in the garage. u will prolly get flamed, but only by kids who have no grasp on car history. "nA DoG.iF iT AiNt hOnDA iT aInT dOpE."
make sure u get an original color code and paint it one of those colors, bugs with the original colors look awesome.id say keep the exterior and interior clean and all original with a fat asssss motor. dual webers, etc etc..yumm (just like a honda). bugs still run ****, when people wanna build cars for the all motor import class, i dunno y many dont choose a old bug for the purpose, the things weigh nothing and u can get nice blocks for them, hell..even porsche swaps, and very cheap to build.
and damn, u can tell yours is og, no fuel gauge, no seatbelts, turnsignals at the BOTTOM of the bumper, the slick ****.
damn..dont u just love the smell and feel of real horsehair that spills out of your torn seats while your rebuilding that interior..lol

Um, Datsun? JFWY
Um, Datsun? JFWY
Datsuns were not imported to the US until about 1965. The first VW's imported to the US was in 1951. And dont even tell me you actually think Datsuns were even nearly as popular as VW's in the mid to late 60's. They sold more VW's than American cars in those years. (some things never change)
Dr.Kimball, whats with your drive way????? I like it and the bug too.

Dope! My buddy has a '56 that he's putting back together. I don't know too much about the engines but it's dual carbed, different motor from his old '67. But those things are badass. He got his white walls and roof rack. I like it!
