Default fitting RSX-S muffler on eg hatch

I recently picked up an 05 RSX-S muffler for my 95 cx hatch. Upon test fitting I realized this muffler is basically 2x the size of my ES oval. It looks like I am going to have an issue with the length of the muffler... The inlet side of the muffler is very close to my rear trailing arm. I took this to a local muffler shop and they immediately said no way. I have searched around and have seen this muffler on a few EK's. Is this swap possible for an EG? Does anyone have any experience or pics of this install?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks!

I'll tell you,,, there is nothing like the sound of something banging on your LCA's like exhaust or a ill fitted sway bar because of a bad fit. What a lovely sound. The woman love it "WHAT"S THAT!?" and it drives you absolutely nuts!

Any suggestions on another OEM or stock sounding muffler if I can't get this to fit.

My ES Oval is loud as hell

What size piping are you running and do you have a resonator? Im running an ES Oval w/ resonator and i think 2" pipe and its only loud at WOT, which I never really hit because driving like an *** doesnt pay off in Cali.

Fitted an RSX muffler on my 96 today. Fitment sucks because it's too big and the tip hangs out a little. Free flowing and quiet.

Try an ITR or GSR muffler for your EG.

Try to go to Midas and see what they say. Since you have the muffler already, why not try as hard as you can to get it on w/o buying a new one?
