HOW CAN I TRY TO TAKE OFF MY DRAIN PLUG??????????????????????????????????
i am trying to do an oil change and i cant seem to take off the drain plug cuz i think it was air tighten, how can i take it off?
yes im turning the bolt the right way(counterclockwise) and yes im using the correct socket size to to take it off but it still is not coming off, cuz it was probably tighten by the air pressure thing, what can i do?
that happened to me and all i can say is that i laid on my back, put my legs against the wall and used a breaker and that worked for me. i dont really know what else other than go to a walmart or something and have them change your oil and tell them you want it hand tightened not air gun tightened to not run into this problem again.
you will need a breaker bar....heres what i do:
if your jack's handle comes in 2 parts, you can disassemble it and use one of the pieces as an extension on the ratchet's handle. works pretty well.

i hate going to walmart cuz thats the last place i got my oil change and they didnt even put the right oil filter on their they put a hyundai filter on their so i got to go get another tool for that filter to take it off, yes but thanks ill try those things that ya'll told me and see if it works.

Put a rachet/socket on it and bring out the hammer. Pound away. That will work just like an air impact wrench.
If and when you do get it off, check for some red (they may have other colors also) stuff on the drain bolt. If it has some hard colored stuff on it, the threads may have been stripped out, and someone put lock-tite on the bolt to hold it in tight. The drain bolt should never be that tight (no more than about 30lb ft).
