Last night as I was comming home, car was running perfect. Turned on the headlights and started missing, poping and cracking like crazy, like it was major out of timing. The lights on the dash, clock, stereo everything blinking. Turned off the lights and it ran perfect again. The clock and the radio back to perfect again. The ignition must have been cutting off and back on because the shift light kept blinking. Luckily I was really close to home. Any ideas?

 

Sounds like you need to clean your grounds. If that doesn't improve things, then you should replace them. The one from your wiring harness you can leave alone. Sounds like your connections or the cables themselves are getting corroded and not able to carry as much current. Check the one from the battery to the chassis first.

I am having a similar issue. Nothing to do with my headlights but my radio will make loud cracking noise, then static. I turn it off and back on and there's no sound. I can put a cd in and it still won't play. This has been happening off and on now for several months. I called the dealership they told me to press 1 and 6 to reset but all I get is diag, sometimes the radio comes back on other times it won't. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
