Fit worth it if not swapping motor?
i have been looking into some fits, and know that stock there only 109 hp.
I don't believe ill be swapping a k20 into it for 2 reasons.
1. I don't plan on running 1/4's with it or doing any intense racing
2. warranty issues.
What i really want to end up with-
full exhaust
cold air intake
a few other small things...
suggestions?
I am new to the forum by the way, so all opinions are welcome, you guys are the honda experts.

What do you want suggestions on? The Fit is worth it even if you aren't swapping a K20 right away. Use it for a daily driver. I'm also looking into them and that's the kind of mods I would do, bolt ons...nothing crazy.
I suggest you look somewhere else if you're looking to go fast. The Fit is made to be reliable, affordable and good on gas. I don't see a point in spending 15k+ on a fit just to swap a motor in. The Fit is worth every penny, I don't care how slow it is.
Alot of people have like b18c5 powered EGs or any crazy project car. And i like to think of the fit as a car to replace driving that sucker on the street everyday. Great daily driver. Its not meant to be that Crazy project car

I agree, but the Fit is my only car and I don't see doing a swap. Unless I win the lotto and buy another Fit and have a Fit to daily drive and a Fit for a project. lol

see my initial plan is to just go with the warranty until it runs out, then id gladly throw a k swap doesnt have to be the k20, but with gasoline prices going up and up and up i love 30 plus mpg on reg gas daily

If you buy a Fit and think you're getting a full blown race car then, no, the Fit is not worth it.
If you're buying a Fit because you need something with 4 doors, a ton of cargo room, and something relatively fuel efficient, then the Fit is worth every penny.
I do not understand why people come in here complaining about the Fit 1.5L being slow or asking how they can make it run 11's.
Since the Fit is a new car here on the NA market, we'll all have to be patient when it comes to the performance aftermarket and any record breaking numbers.
If any of you are looking for a "fast" honda, you could easily save money buy purchasing any EF,EG, or EK hatches and swapping a k20 into that for now... it's much cheaper and easier.

Personally, I'd rather have the super-efficient 1.3 i-DSI than the 1.5 with the way gas prices are climbing. A small turbo diesel would be even better: torque+low curb weight = suprisingly quick car!

The fit is a blast to drive in tight corners. It sucks when the AC is on though. It is like driving a 4door CRX. Fit with some susp./wheel/tire upgrades would be a blast to drive. Cars do not have to make 350+whp to be fun to drive (infact most fast cars aren't all that fun to drive).

Fits arnt fast but they are plenty of fun to drive just get a manual! They handle pretty good for a 4 door hatchback! Fits wernt meant to be racecars, they are for people who are building racecars and need a daily driver! lol Dont buy one if you think your gona build a streetracer!
I bought my Fit knowing full well that the car was slow but that it can handle pretty well with the right mods. Thus far, I've bought front and rear strut bars, c-pillar bar, front under brace, and a rear tie bar. With these mods, the car is pretty fun to throw around.
If you want to add some pep to your Fit, the T1R intake adds ~10hp/17ft-lbs and a good exhaust will add about 5hp or so. Normally, 15hp wouldn't feel like much, but in a car that only makes around 90whp to start off with, 15hp is a difference.
If you want a bit more, there are always JR's supercharger kit and one of the many turbo kits out there.

i disagree (well partly). Fit's a pretty good platform for a racecar if u're serious bout building it up. otherwise, alot of the known manufactorers wont even touch it.
having said that, i dont think Fits are worth it for a swap, at least not for now since they're practically brand new. its a fun car to drive- yes, and its not a fast car, but its good enuf how it is.
if u're serious bout building a track *****, there're tons many/better options u can go for (and mayb for cheaper) ie eg/ek/dc etc.
just how i see it. Fits are great as is, enjoy it for now

IMO if you're looking for performance...look elsewhere. The Fit is fun to drive, but it's not a race car. It keeps up with traffic and it does handle quite well. It's good on gas and you can haul a lot of crap inside. It's reliable and trustworthy transportation.
I don't think it's worth it to spend a bunch of money on it trying to make it fast. I guess if you found one with a blown motor cheap it might be worth the K20 swap, but there are other cars I would choose before it.

I say no motor swap.
Why waste a completely good motor?
It already seems like you have plans for modifying a Fit and yeah that seems like a better choice then swapping. Plus motor swapping would be a huge hassle.
So do you already have a Fit?
