I'd choose a honda fit over BOTH of them...and if your patient there will be a hybrid fit coming out at the end of 08

I would be embarrassed to be seen in a fit. They look like a car for a 16 year old girl

Honestly i'm not too sure i havent looked into it
and odd's are the few that HAVE done it .... are 90% built for time attacks etc etc so it wasn't kept.

Stock.. it is. Once you start modding the **** out of it, it becomes a whole new animal.

But how many people really do a motor swap? Less than 1% of the people who buy it? Maybe a 100th of a percent? Maybe?



Sorry but that thing is ugly.. and slow. Not the two best things to mix together for a car.

Ok a bit off topic here but I'd buy a fit to go with my Si if I could afford to. Drive the fit to work and the Si on the weekends. I think the fit is pretty cool, stock.

My parents have a Civic hybrid and I think the biggest reason they took the Civic over the Prius is that the Prius is fugly.

 

Have to agree with elohel. The thing looks ugly. I would probably take a smart car over the fit.

I would do the same thing if i could afford it.

 

you can get superchargers for them. and yes stock, not the prettiest car ever, much better looking then the Prius, but i kno most of u guys are not buying a car to keep it stock. right?? if u lower it and some new wheels and other mods, it will look completely different. i would rather buy the Fit over a new civic hybrid and hopefully like *EDIT* TYPE X *EDIT* said they make them hybrid themselves

I would get the Honda... Most likely better resale value... Neither one will be driven hard, or raced by any means so power really isnt a concern... Unless the Toyota had a really comfy interrior, I would say Honda...

why not go buy an old civic for a few grand and use it as a work car and the SI as a weekend car. Goin out and buying a new fit would be rediculous. My 93 gets the same mileage as that ugly dog. Only reason I kept the old car was to use it as a comuter car.

I second that. Any car that's smaller than a Civic, yet big enough inside to have sex in gets my vote.

You know Toyotas are most likely going to have higher reliability and resale than a honda, right? There's a reason why they are the best selling car manufacturer.

Perhaps. But Honda is in a very close second and catching up. Toyota offers more vehicles and the Tundra is really starting to catch on. But because a company sells more vehicles doesn't necessarily make it better than another. But it is quite possible.

As for the prius vs civic, mike posted some good points about the prius but all in all the setups are "basically" the same... I would choose the civic because it looks better, is a honda and has a little bit more R &d into it than the toyota does.

Either one serves its purpose as being a "hybrid" just fine tho.

 

Neither. The mining, refinement, shipping, and assembly of hybrid batteries cause more environmental degradation than driving a car with shitty gas mileage. You'll be doing more good to drive a conventional motor with good mileage, and you'll save a little money off the initial purchase price, as well.
