what's faster? stock ls/vtec setup.. or stock itr
well i got this buddy who has a ls/vtec turbo civic .... and he tells me that a stock b16 head and stock Ls bottom..... is faster then a stock itr motor... ? now assuming a b16 si head since hes more of a usdm kinda guy....and ls bottom.. i just dont see that making over 170hp.....as to the itr's that pushes 200... im the newbie.. u guys let me know the facts... and if im right assuming itr's should win with ease in a qtr mile race..... could i be wrong? or is he just runnin lip out of envy cuz my motor setup may be better then his? our compression is a weaping 11.0.1 compared to the ls 9.2.1 compression.. so i really find it hard to believe it? imma show him this page.. so bless me and him with some facts to prove one of us wrong. thanxs...........this site rules by the way.. i just havent figured out how to message someone without them being on-line?

well besides the stroke being 1.8mm longer on the ls vtec everything about the ls vtec is shittier compared to a itr motor, although if an ls vtec is in a car that weighs 500 pounds less than an itr then it might be faster

On paper, those are the facts... When it comes to how the two engines are factory machined, LS cannot be matched to the Type-R. Not saying LS components are that much worst than any other B-Series, the only weak link in the LS bottom end is the rod bolts... Replace them with ARP 8mm bolts, and you're good on that.
Anyway, stock Type-R versus stock LS bottom end with stock B16 head... No way in hell would it make near the power of Type-R. Stock Type-Rs put down around 170whp+ (Respectively, all dynos are different), I've seen completely stock component LS/VTECs put down 150whp tuned... Granted, as stated above, putting that engine in a 2,000lb '92 Civic CX, and it'd probably take a stock DC2 Type-R no problem. But power for power, stock for stock, Type-R far exceeds a stock component LS/VTEC.

i think... that you..... should learn how to put..... a single period at the end of a sentence..... you also..... should learn how to use..... an uppercase letter to start a sentence..... and you should stop..... putting strings of periods..... throughout your posts...... if you do all of this... your posts will... be easier for people to understand.....
