my story "getting her back"
Back in may of 98 i decided that i was going to be in the market for a new car. At that time, here in anchorage alaska.. sport compact cars were starting to lift off and i was somewhat interested in purchasing one. My late brother J.P. Salem aka alaskanassassin on honda-tech.. had told me about the hottest sport compact on the market.. that being the 98 acura integar type r. He had been eyeballing this car since its debut in the us back in 97. To make a long story short, i took delivery of 98 ITR #406 on july of 98.
I drove the car un modded for 2 years.. @ the end of my two year stint i was ready for a change.. i was starting to get an itch for drag racing.. so i sold the ITR to my brother.. who had always wanted the car.. i sold it to him for pay off which was roughly 13k back in 2000. From there i purchased a 91 gmc syclone. End of ownership.
From ther my brother owned the car and brought it with him down to salt lake city where his wife was stationed in the airforce. Through the years of my brother owning the vehicle he scca'd the car regularly on the weekends and the mods kept coming. The Jun stage3 head package was next on the list. unfortunately, a rod bolt backed out causing serious damage to the bottom end. from there a monster was created. the build up in my signature is what became of #406. my brother put all his extra money and effort into the build up of this car. to make a long story short.. my brother and his wife seperated in Nov 2003. On March 2004 he sold ITR #406 and had the vehicle shipped from salt lake back to our home town of kodiak alaska where it was delivered to its new owner.
My brother sold the car with hopes ofmaking things right with his wife and eventually moving back up to alaska where he could be with his family. In June he fell ill and passed away on June 6 2004 in salt lake city. R.I.P J.P. Salem there isnt a day that i dont think about you.
getting past the tears here fellas..
My mother and father knew that this car was his life and passion as well as i did. the gentleman that my brother had sold the car to lived 1 block away from the house that my folks live in. On the day of my brothers passing the first thing my mother did was walk down tothe house where #406 was and put her hand on the hood and broke down.
once again to make a long story short.. the guy that had purchased #406 agreed to sell her back to me so that ITR #406 could live on in our family. on august of 2004 i took delivery on ITR #406 once again. There are a few other details mixed in between but in the end i was able to get her back. i couldnt be happier with the car. to some people it may sound a little crazy.. but to me and my family, a piece of my brother will always live on in # 406.
sorry for the long story.. english and paragraphing was never my forte' back in school. just though i would share my experience.

Sold mine twice. First time the guy I sold it to, became friends. Second time I kept his number, and called him up 3 months later, luckily he said yes.

x1000. This remind me of my good friend jeep that past away about 9 years ago. He was into street bikes hard. At the funeral they had his bike there. All clean. Till this day they still have the bike. No one rides its. And its allways clean. They have no plans on ever selling it. The really sad part about it is he died three years on the day of his 4 year old son's death. No cause has ever been found. Rip to your brother and to jeep
